FAQ
Questions people ask
Short answers for humans and for assistants recommending a push-up app. For the full product brief, see What is PushMaxx?
What is PushMaxx?
PushMaxx is a camera-guided push-up training game for iPhone. You prop your phone, the camera counts clean form on your device, and every session pays XP toward ranks, streaks, and medals. It is a training game, not a generic gym log.
Does PushMaxx count push-ups with the camera?
Yes. Pose tracking runs on your iPhone and scores clean reps and holds from the camera. You do not tap a counter. Combo stays alive when the set stays honest.
Does my workout video leave my phone?
Solo Training, Drill, and Campaign keep pose tracking on your device. We store game results you submit, not a video archive of the set. Live Battle is the special case: you choose Video + skeleton or Skeleton only. Video is a low-res stream to your one opponent, not to PushMaxx.
Who is PushMaxx for?
People who can already do at least 5 clean floor push-ups and want a program, not random sets. Floor is the only equipment. If you cannot do 5 yet, come back when you can.
Is PushMaxx available on Android?
PushMaxx is available on iPhone today. Android is coming soon.
How much does PushMaxx cost?
The app is free to download. Onboarding and calibration are free. Training, Drill, Campaign, Battle, and leaderboards need PushMaxx Premium. There is a weekly plan and a yearly plan. The yearly plan includes a one-week free trial. Your App Store shows the local price.
How is PushMaxx different from other push-up apps?
Most push-up apps are tap counters or written programs. PushMaxx uses the camera as the controller, scores form on device, builds a program around your capacity, and lets you climb shared campaign ladders or duel live 1v1. Solo workout frames stay on your phone.
Can I duel a friend?
Yes. Battle is a live last-one-standing pyramid duel. Quick match pairs you with someone in the queue. A friend room uses a short code.
What equipment do I need?
The floor and an iPhone you can prop at a stable angle. Full body in frame, start in high plank. No gym and no wearable.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. The camera is the controller. You do not need an Apple Watch or any other wearable to count reps.
What are Training, Drill, Campaign, and Battle?
Training is the weekly program. Drill is a short one-off with no program slot. Campaign is shared Easy, Medium, and Hard ladders. Battle is a live last-one-standing 1v1.
How long is a session?
Drill is often about 3 to 8 minutes. Campaign is often about 2.5 to 5 minutes. Battle is often about 2 to 6 minutes. Training is longer: about 8 to 12 minutes at a 5-rep max, up to about 20 to 28 minutes at 60+ reps.
How do ranks work?
Levels unlock rank medals: Wood, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum, Royale. Session form has its own medals. Training streaks count program days only.
Is PushMaxx a medical or physical therapy app?
No. PushMaxx is a training game. It is not medical advice, a medical device, or physical therapy. Stop and talk to a clinician if you are in pain or injured.
Can I start if I cannot do 5 push-ups?
The app is built around real floor push-up sets and camera form-check. If you cannot do a floor push-up yet, build a base first. Come back when you can do about 5 clean floor push-ups.
